AACG’s Analysis Shows Continued Growth in Broadband Competition, as Debate over Future of Net Neutrality Heats Up

The latest broadband performance results by Advanced Analytical Consulting Group show that service levels continued to increase through 2015. The results are based on the most recent data from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) released in September 2016 for service through December 2015. This is the second in a series of reports by AACG, providing a consistent set of measures of broadband service over time. AACG’s previous report showed that the analyses presented by FCC Chairman Wheeler in support of the 2015 Open Internet Order relied on measures inconsistent with the FCC’s previous measures of broadband availability. As a result, measures presented in support of the 2015 Open Internet Order were incapable of revealing the extent of growth in internet provider availability. AACG’s new report titled “Consistent Measurement of Broadband Availability: FCC Data through 12/2015,” can be found at aacg.com/net-neutrality/.
